One Month Birthday and VIDEOS!

Bradley is one month old! He is getting SO big! He no longer fits into his newborn clothes and we're not sure how much longer he'll last in the 3 month clothes. We went in for an official one month photo shoot today and this mom once again allowed herself to be upsold and got far too many photos. These photos will be posted soon.

In the meantime, enjoy the fun happenings and updates of the last week complete with VIDEO!

Love this photo of the hubby with Daddy's No. 1 Draft Pick

Bradly loves having friends come over to visit during the week! Victory!

Super Baby!

This video was taken when Bradley was just over two weeks old.

Baby Fashion

We love his mohawk

We've switched from the blanket swaddles to the swaddle me attire. It comes with velcro, very handy as Bradley grows bigger and stronger and happily busts out of swaddles when given the chance.

Kittens and Baby

Bradley and his new gym. It's an awesome little baby gym but he is not yet super excited about it.
On the other hand, Layla LOVES the baby gym
She also loves being on her daddy's lap just as much as Bradley does

Meg scoping out the competition
Sookie loves to be on my lap while I'm feeding Bradley. Sometimes she can be quite annoying in her affection and I have to tell her that she can't climb over the baby in her efforts to be as close to my face as possible. Bad kitty. This will surely end as soon as Bradley takes an interest in the cats.

 Tired Baby

During the day, we generally have to wake up Bradley for his meals. Sometimes this is easier said than done.
Look at this sleepy face. It is so hard to wake this guy up sometimes, who wants to disturb this?
What are you doing, Daddy? We were so cozy!

Tummy Time

He is super cute when we lay him on his stomach on our chests for tummy time. He makes excited noises when he pushes with his feet in order to crawl up and over mommy or daddy.

This video was also taken about 10 days ago. Bradley can hold his head up for even longer now. The photographer at our one month photo session couldn't believe how happy he was on his tummy and said most one month old babies hated tummy time. Further proof of how advanced and smart Bradley is :)

First Bottle!

We are sleeping much better now that we can take shifts with the night time feeds. Here is Nathan giving Bradley his very first bottle! Bradley loves the bottle except he eats as fast as he can and milk gets everywhere. Greedy little bugger, no wonder he's packing on the pounds. We love how chunky he's getting.

Victory!

How cute is this?

Baby Trauma

I may be a bad parent for thinking Bradley's sad faces can be HILARIOUS! He is quickly comforted after these photos are taken. But the photos must be taken.

Not a fan of his cool new camo sunglasses

My friend Cerra got us this awesome shirt and I was determined to send her a picture of Bradley in it. This is the best photo where you can actually read the text.

But THIS is the best photo. What are you doing to me, Mom?
Deer in headlights. I really worked on getting a non upset photo of him in this outfit but it was not to be.

Grand Finale - Baby Bath Time!

This was taken just yesterday. He loves bath time!

I really am planning on doing more regular posts in the future, there were some internet issues this past week otherwise there would have been at least a couple shorter posts. And now I know how to upload videos, so stay tuned for much more cuteness!

Happy Three Week Birthday!

Bradley is three weeks old today! Hurray! We spent the day running errands, hanging out with my friend Jessica, and going for a walk together. A busy day for such a little guy!

Took this during tummy time. He likes it best when I lay on my back and put him on my stomach for tummy time. He can push his feet against my hands and "crawl" up towards my face.

Unshowered me with baby this morning. I LOVE how he's looking up at me!

Post shower me with Bradley. Much better.

Here are some fun Bradley stats:

At birth he was 7lbs 4.5 oz and 18.75 inches long

When we left the hospital the next day, he was down to around 6lbs 9 oz. It's totally normal for babies to lose up to 10% of their body weight the day or two after being born, they aren't attached to the food source like before and they have to do quite a bit more work to get fed!

At our three day appointment he was up to 6lbs 10 oz and they said he was 20 inches long. We thought that seemed like a lot of growth in such a short time but hey, what do we know.

At our two week appointment he was 8lbs 3.5 oz and 21.25 inches long. Babies are supposed to at least get back up to their birth weight by the two week appointment, but Bradley is a champion eater and he overshot by about a pound. To put this in perspective, he gained about 20% of his body weight in a two week period. If you weigh 150 lbs that would be like putting on 30 pounds in two weeks.

One month appointment is coming up, any guesses as to where he'll be by then? I'm guessing in the low to mid 9 lb range. And perhaps 23 inches long? Like I know.

Happy three week birthday, Bradley! May you continue to grow tall and chubby!

First Week of Stay at Home Mom Duties

Nathan's paternity leave ended at the end of last week and my stay at home mom duties officially began. Bradley and I are having a good time and taking a lot of walks and learning how to best time shopping trips so they coincide with alert time and slide right into nappy time. But we both miss having Daddy around throughout the day, Bradley's naps just aren't the same without him.

Look, Nathan is awake for one of these!

Literally about 5 minutes later

We are not doing the co-sleeping thing. Makes both of us far too nervous to have the baby actually sleep in the bed with us. But the occasional nap is okay :)

And after these epic naps mean mom has to wake up the sweet baby so he can eat and get big and strong. Sometime he is on board with waking up for grub, sometimes he's a little puddle of sleepiness and it takes more work.

We are so grateful for all the wonderful friends who came over with delicious food and gave us an excuse to change out of our pajamas and socialize a bit. I just put up the few pics I took on my iPhone, sorry if you visited and you aren't pictured here. We can remedy it on a future visit if you so desire ;)

 Bradley loves Katie!

Oh yes, all the ladies love Bradley

A guy friend who was not afraid to hold a newborn! Good job, Dave!

We got in a weekend walk to nearby Chism Park as one of our final paternity leave activities. If there's one thing that sends Bradley straight to sleepytown, it's going on a walk in his cozy baby carrier.

Look, a photo of the proud parents! But there is no baby in this picture. Nobody cares about this picture.

These are some of my favorite pictures, I think I took these the afternoon after our walk when Nathan was very sleepy and I was trying to get Bradley to take a nap. He loves sleeping with Daddy, that should knock him out, right? Wrong.

Proof that I get to cuddle with a sleepy baby sometimes too

 Zonked out

So Nathan went back to work and the Sunday night before he went back we decided to move Bradley up to his crib in the baby room since he had been making CRAZY noises in the little bassinet by our bed and been keeping us up for quite a bit of each night. I was very nervous about missing his cries and having him feel abandoned so I turned the volume on the baby monitory waaaaay up, so as to not miss anything. Thereby negating the whole reason we moved him up. We lay in bed as Bradley put himself to sleep making ridiculous noises and I asked Nathan if a dolphin had somehow gotten itself trapped in the crib with out little boy. I need to record these noises sometime, they are absurd.

Over the course of the night the baby monitor volume got turned down lower and lower until it was on the very lowest level. I still hear his cries when he's hungry but going to sleep/waking up crazy animal grunts are not as disruptive as before.

First thing we do while Daddy is at work is getting in some tummy time! Immediately after this photo was taken, Bradley managed to roll himself over onto his back. Twice. Tummy time now takes place on the floor instead of on the coffee table.

See, I do take pictures where he's conscious. He loves his hands, we definitely are going to have a thumb sucker. Also, we're betting on brown eyes at this point so that probably means the brown hair will stick around too and not change to blonde or anything. It's our prediction, we'll see if it comes true!

Bradley loves the cozy hat that Grandma Colleen sent him! Thank you, Grandma!

Going for a walk with my kiddo - photo on the right is my view looking down into the baby carrier.

He is so happy in the little infant insert inside the carrier, I leave him in it for post walk naps!

 Stuffed

Daddy's gift to poor Bradley. That is quite the cowlick.

Again, I may be biased, but we have the cutest baby ever ever ever.

After our trip to Target. So exhausted! And Bradley looks tired too. Seriously, it's amazing how much effort goes into making a trip like Target happen at this point. I make sure all is in readiness and after feeding and changing the kid it is go go go time! I am so determined to not be stuck at home even in these early weeks. It's somewhat ironic that the person who goes stir crazy if she stays at home for too many hours in a row is now a stay at home mom. I plan on being one in title only, this kid and I are going to be out and about like nobody's business once I have his routine down! Walks, infant swim classes, mommy and me groups, if it takes place outside of our house I'm in.

Having so much fun, we love this sweet little guy so much!

Bradley One Day Old Photos

While at the hospital in the postpartum room for 24 hours following Bradley's birth, we were visited by a photographer. Apparently Swedish Hospital has a deal with a photography company that comes around and gives you a complimentary photo session and then tries to sell the overpriced photos to suckers.

Well, there are no suckers like new parents. We bought the cd of the 30 best photos. They are all below, email me if you want a higher resolution copy of any of them!
